1. A New Product for Feed Supplement

(C.M.S.) is a by-product from the microbial fermentation of molasses. Other than most of the original nutrients contained in molasses, it also has the additional elements such as microbial protein, amino acids, organic acids, vitamins, and coenzyme which are produced by bacteria during the process of fermentation.

high nutrition value.

or pelleted feed. It can be made into a liquid feed supplement by mixing it with some food by-products, such as molasses, distiller's grain or milk whey. It can also sprayed directly on the feed or hay for ruminant animals. C.M.S. is a feed supplement that can improve economical value, and has been used in the many countries for more than two decades. The advantages of using C.M.S. as a feed supplement are:
1.Contributing some special kinds of micro nutrients to the animal feed.
2.Baking the feed more palatable by improving both the appearance and the taste.
3.Improving the feed pelleting quality and reducing dusting.
4.Lowering the overall feed production cost.

2.Good organic Material for Agriculture and Aquaculture use

for plant growth. For example, it has nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, and various micro elements. It also has the low- molecular organic nutrients that can be easily absorbed by plants. It enhances the growth of plants, and indeed is a very good growth supplement. C.M.S. can be made into liquid organic fertilizer or simply added to the solid organic fertilizer. The advantages of using C.M.S. for fertilizers are:
1.Providing essential nutrients for plants such as nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium.
2.Providing micro ingredients and special organic growth factors.

than using it as a supplement to the regular aquaculture feed, it can be added into ponds to cultivate algae and plankton, which provides the needed natural larval food for fish fry and shrimp fry at their early stage of growth. The advantages of using C.M.S. in aquaculture are:
1.Luring fish to eat and thus increasing feed intake.
2.Providing special kinds of growth factors and thus increasing the survival and growing rate of fish
and shrimp.
3.Cultivating water color, and thus enhances the growth and health of all aqua species.

3.Main Sources of C.M.S.

countries as a feed supplement. It is the fermentation by-product when using molasses as the carbon source to make glutamate, lysine, citric acid, alcohol, and yeast. In Europe, it was made from the production processes of alcohol and yeasts, while in Asia, it was mainly from amino acid fermentation industries . Molasses is the main source used in the fermenting process for amino acid. After adding nitrogen, phosphorus, and the other organic nutrients , it has been inoculated with specially cultivated amino acids producing microbes. Some 10 hours of aerobic stirring in a controlled environment, the broth containing amino acid is produced. After the amino-acid material is isolated from the fermenting liquid, the remainent still has plentiful nutritive elements, such as protein, amino acids, vitamins, minerals, and other micronutrients. The mother liquid is then condensed into C.M.S. The C.M.S. produced by Ve Dan contains more higher solids and crude protein than that coming from the other sources.

4.Research on the Application of C.M.S.

1. The Application of C.M.S. in Animal Feeds
By researching on the application of feed for ruminant animals, VeDan and Tunghai University have
been collaborating the research of "Effect of C.M.S. Addition in Cow Feed on Milk Escretionruminant
feed , it can improve the content of milk protein. The other study for non-ruminant feed, National
Pingtung University of Science and Technology has collaborated the research of "Application of
C.M.S. in Pigs and Broilers". It shows that C.M.S. can improve the palatability of feed.
2. The Application of C.M.S. on Organic Fertilizer
In collaboration with National Chunghsing University regarding the application of C.M.S. on fertilizer,
the two research projects have been completed: " Application of C.M.S. for Agricultureon growing
Pak-Choi". The former research shows that the growth and harvest of paddy rice are maintained as
normal if C.M.S. is used to replace certain amount of chemical fertilizer. The latter research shows
that C.M.S. can improve the growth of Pak-Choi by increasing the nutrient availability.
3. The Application of C.M.S. on Aquaculture
On the aquaculture study, Ve Dan and the Taiwan Fisheries Research Institute show the research of
"Application of C.M.S. in fish(Tilapia and milkfish)feed" The study shows that C.M.S. added in the
Tilapia feed can improve the palatability of feed. Another study on Milk Fish also shows that C.M.S.
can be used as a feed ingredient for pelleted MilkFish feed. Ve Dan has also entrusted this Institute
to do the other research projects: "Application of C.M.S. for Rotifer Cultivation" and "Application of
C.M.S. for Laval Food(Rotifer and Artemia) Cultivation". The former study shows that rotifers can be
cultivated either indoor or outdoor with C.M.S.fatty acids . Furthermore, if C.M.S. is mixed with
photosynthesis bacteria during the cultivation, the rotifer population will grow more rapidly. The
latter research also shows that an adequate inclusion of C.M.S. will improve the survival and growth
rate of brine shrimp. The result of both studies help to commercialize the cultivation of larval feed for
aqua-business.

5. Application, Promotion, And Service

Ve Dan Enterprise Corp. has been playing a major role in the amino acids fermentation industry in Far East Asia at present and is also one of the leading companies in the world. Ve Dan has invested in R&D and application of.

In Taiwan, Ve Dan has undertaken various research projects on the application of C.M.S. The projects include feeds supplements for dairy cows, pigs, broilers, Tilapia, Milkfish, and shrimp. Organic fertilizer research focussed on the species of paddy rice, bananas, hay, vegetables, and fruits. The larval food cultivation for fish fry using C.M.S. has very positive results . For example, "Misopro" is vailable on the market as an animal feed supplement, while "Yidi" is a series the of liquid organic fertilizer brand . In Vietnam, C.M.S is used to produce "Vedagro," an agriculture fertilizer. "Vedagro" has been well received by the local farmers and has contributed greatly to the griculture development in Vietnam. VeDan(Vietnam) was awarded "Vietnam Golden Rice Stalk" from the Vietnam Ministry of griculture and Rural Development in 1998.

been proven to be very successful too.
As to overseas marketing, Ve Dan has exportedfarming countries, such as the U.S., England, and Australia. They have steadily used C.M.S. as a liquid feed supplement for a very long time. Ve Dan has acquired very specialized fermentation techniques and
production facilities for producing amino acids. We also have sufficient facilities for storage and prompt delivery. We guarantee that we are able to provide clients with the best quality and service of C.M.S.
